Free Folk Life Festival Millicent Rogers Museum

The free 7th Annual Folk Life Festival at the Millicent Rogers Museum is from noon to 4:00 pm on May 16, 2009, featuring tri-cultural music and dance, artist demonstrations, art activities, and face painting (The face painting is presumably for the kids, but hey, it’s Taos. Whatever takes your fancy.)

Free Meet Author/Activist at Brodsky Books

Meet author and activist Mark Rudd, who’ll discuss and sign copies of his new memoir Underground: My Life With SDS and the Weathermen on Saturday May 2, from 4:00-6:00 pm, at the Brodsky Bookshop. (Straight afterwards, Rudd speaks at a World Peace Week gathering at the Taos Artist Co-op next door to Brodsky Bookshop.)

A Washington Post review said: “Underground” is honest and funny, passionate and contrite, meticulously researched and deeply philosophical: an essential document on the ’60s.”

The free author event is at Brodsky Bookshop, 226A Paseo del Pueblo Norte, Taos, across from the Fechin House.  Not much on the website but you can call 575-758-9468 for info.
